Our Story

Meet our Founder

Roberto Hasbun grew up in Tegucigalpa, Honduras dreaming of studying in the United States. He made it to Princeton ('21) and Cornell ('22) and then built the company he wished had existed when he was applying. Today, Avanza has guided 500+ students across 7 countries, secured $10M+ in scholarships, and maintained a 96% top-choice acceptance rate. All sessions are 100% online via Google Meet, with flexible scheduling to fit your time zone and school calendar.
Yes, parents are welcome at the first session. After that, they receive ongoing progress reports and have direct contact with their student's coach.
No one can guarantee that. What we do guarantee is helping you build the strongest possible version of your application.
No, we support applications to the US, Canada, the UK, Spain, Italy, and Mexico.
We don't award scholarships directly, but we help you prepare and submit strategic applications that maximize your chances of scholarships and financial aid from the universities themselves.
Undergraduate admissions coaching, standardized test prep (SAT, PSAT, TOEFL, Duolingo, GMAT, and GRE), academic tutoring, transfer and graduate school support, and our Changemakers summer program.
Ideally two to three years before senior year. Junior year is when we focus heavily on the SAT and building the college list; senior year is entirely application focused.
